Bill Maher is always incorrect, sometimes poignant, and usually hilarious.  Enjoy this while you can.  It’s his last show of the season.

GOP Interferes with Religion!

26football The National Football League and NBC will likely move up the time of the league’s September season opener so it won’t conflict with presidential nominee John McCain’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.

Since 2002, the NFL has held its season opener on the first Thursday night after Labor Day. This year, the game runs smack into the final night of the convention, when McCain will officially accept the nomination and give a nationally televised speech from Minneapolis.

While the NFL has yet to announce its schedule for the 2008 season, it’s apparently not going to shy away from having its season opener on the scheduled day, with the game likely featuring the Super Bowl champion New York Giants.

So, the NFL and NBC have agreed in principle to have the kickoff at 7 p.m. ET instead of the traditional 8:30 p.m. That would mean, except in the event of an overtime, that the game would end before NBC’s expected one hour of convention coverage for the night… [emphasis added]

This is horrible! This action interferes with a holy day celebrated by the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb, the day of immaculate return! If the media do not want a conflict, let the Repuglicans reschedule their damn convention! smile_confused

Any Takers?

craig_bathroom My Washington, DC office needs interns who are hardworking, independent, and resourceful team-players who share my political philosophy.

Most of the interns I have had the honor of working with in my office have moved on to much greater things, from leaders in all facets of government to significant players in the private sector. It is my genuine hope that each intern in my office will gain insight into her or his career path, as I did interning for Idaho Congressman Orville Hansen. ..

…Hard-working, independent, resourceful team-players; strong writing and researching skills; interest in government and the political process; juniors or seniors in college, or recent graduates; preference is given to idaho students attending idaho colleges and universities.

Other opportunities may also be available
